Spirit of Cricket! Umpire applauds KL Rahul for not claiming low catch during Sydney Test; watch video
KL Rahul might not be in his best form but is still a precious asset to Indian line-up. And today, he proved it with his honest act of not claiming a low ‘catch’ of Aussie batsman Marcus Harris on day 3 of the 4th and final Test. Rahul’s this gesture made on-field umpire Ian Gould laud him for his positive sportsman spirit.
The incident happened when Harris tried to hit a ball off Jadeja’s bowling, but didn’t get a proper connection and Rahul made a dive to catch the ball. Rahul then quickly got back on his knees and signalled to umpire and other players that the catch was not clean. Rahul was fielding at mid-on when he dive to take the match.
A good effort from Rahul and he immediately says it bounced. Great stuff. Umpire Gould a big fan of it #CloseMatters#AUSvIND | @GilletteAU pic.twitter.com/7nA0H5Lsc7
