Petrol prices cut to lowest level in 2018, diesel prices also touches lowest mark since April on Thursday
New Delhi: Petrol, diesel prices started again downward trend on Thursday and with this drop Petrol prices fell to their lowest level in 2018. After today’s revision diesel prices also dropped to the lowest level since April.
Petrol in the national capital Delhi, is priced at Rs 69.74 compared to Rs 69.79 yesterday while Diesel price cut by 7paise per litre to Rs 63.76 on Thursday as against Rs 63.83 on Wednesday.
In Mumbai, petrol is sold at Rs 75.36 per litre, as against Rs 75.41 on Wednesday and diesel is sold at Rs 66.72 per litre compared to Rs 66.79 the day earlier. In the other two metros Chennai and Kolkata, petrol is priced at Rs 72.36 and Rs 71.84 respectively while diesel in these cities are priced at Rs 67.31 and Rs 65.51 respectively.
Worth mention here crude prices climbed up by 8 per cent yesterday, logging their best intraday gain in nearly 2 year. Brent crude, an international benchmark for crude prices, was trading at around the $54 per barrel mark in Asian trade on Thursday.
The crude price drop brings cheerfulness for India as the country imports more than 80 per cent of its crude necessity.
