Kiwi victory is the fifth smallest win in terms of runs
The Kiwi victory is the fifth smallest win in terms of runs in Test cricket history and to celebrate the big feat, the visiting team seem to have pulled out the speakers and some pretty cool dance moves in the dressing room.
Pakistan’s Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq fought hard for Pakistan, but New Zealand held on to steal a four-run win in the first Test in Abu Dhabi led by debutant Ajaz Patel. The emphatic victory not just brought jubilation on the field but the celebrations continued inside the dressing room as well. The cricketers celebrated their win dancing on a famous Punjabi song, ‘Mundian To Bach Ke’.
Pakistan vs New Zealand: Kiwi players were seen doing the Bhangra to the tunes of ‘Mundian To Bach Ke’ after securing a narrow 4-run victory over hosts in the first Test at Abu Dhabi.
After the match, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson praised the Pak side’s never-say-die approach and described the match as a ‘good advertisement for Test cricket.’
‘It certainly was dramatic,’ said Williamson. ‘Throughout the four days, both teams were put under pressure. I think at the end of the day it was a great advertisement for Test cricket.’
Three of the team were born in India (Sodhi, Raval and Ajaz Patel), while there are two born in South Africa (BJ Watling and Neil Wagner) and one from Zimbabwe, Colin de Grandhomme.
