Indian pace attack is the best in the world, says Australian skipper Tim Paine
On monday India created history and became the first Asian team to register a test series win in Australia.
Tim paine the aussie captain spoke to media after the match in the post match press conference. Paine congratulated team India and also passed praiseworthy comments for Indian bowlers.
Australian skipper said, “At present, the current Indian pace attack is the best in the world. They have got tremendous bowlers who can beat any opposition and probably that’s why they are the number 1 side in the world.”
When during the 5th and final day match officials decided to call off the day due to excessive rain, India started celebrating the moment as they ended up winning the border-gavaskar series with 2-1.
Paine said that we had our chances but unfortunately we could not held on to those chances. On the other hand India used the opportunities really well.
Paine said, “We honestly feel that we let that Adelaide Test slip out of our hands. We thought we had a number of opportunities to go well ahead of the game and when those key moments came up India outplayed us.”
Aussie captain also said, “Looking back now, if we’d won that Test, we win Perth, outplayed in Melbourne then a washout it could have been 2-1 the other way.”
The wicketkeeper batsman and Australian captain said, ” We felt that we could beat India specially in Australia but, throughout the series, when those big moments oe opportunities came up, Virat has scored runs, Pujara has scored runs, Bumrah has bowled a great spell and we couldn’t quite get through those moments, and probably that’s why we lost.”
