From January 1, you will have to pay lower price for watching the movie, know how

Entertainment| Shortly before Bollywood delegation met Prime Minister Narendra Modi . Bollywood’s people had demanded to reduce the film’s ticket price. Now the Government has reduced the rates of GST by reducing the tax slab, giving great relief to the film’s amateurs and the film industry.

At the Goods and Service Tax Council (GST) Council meeting, it decided to reduce the GST on the movie ticket. Now, if the movie ticket is of Rs.100 then, instead of 18 percent, you’ll only have to pay 12 percent GST and 18 percent will take over on the ticket above Rs 100 Instead of 28 percent GST. Following the decision of the Central Government, many Bollywood personalities including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Aamir Khan have delivered Prime Minister Narendra Modi a thank you.

The same will be for the tickets worth more than Rs. 100. But for the expensive ticket from Rs 100, you have to pay 18 percent tax. This means if you have a ticket of Rs 300 in a cinema, then you have to pay 18% tax for this.

For details, please note that the changes made in GST tax rates on the film ticket are made. It will get implemented from January 1.
