Facebook deleted 1.5 billion accounts, is your account among those deleted accounts ?

Social media giant Facebook has released the Community Standard Report. According to this, the company has deleted about 1.5 billion Facebook accounts from April to September 2018. In this report, the company has talked about Fake News, Hate Speech, Spam, and Terrorist Propaganda. Facebook has said that 1.5 billion fake accounts have been removed. In the second quarter of 2018, Facebook had removed 800 million accounts, while in the third quarter 754 million peck accounts were removed.’

According to Facebook, 99.6% of Fake Accounts have been identified and they have been removed before reporting the users. But still the fake accounts on Facebook have not ended. Facebook estimates that in the second and third quarter of 2018, there may be between 3-4% of the accounts of fake users. Facebook has said that most of the deleted accounts are professionally motivated spam attacks.

Significantly, Facebook is constantly criticizing for Fake accounts, Fake News and Propaganda. Recently, the New York Times published a report that said that Facebook was failing to catch Russia’s interference in US elections and Fake News However, on the claim, and to counter it Facebook has given a lengthy response and the company has issued a Transparency Report in which the figures for the removal of Fake Accounts have been given.
