11-year-old ‘rapes’ minor, sent to juvenile home: Ghaziabad police

According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, the two children would often play together. On Friday afternoon as well, police said the children were playing together.

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an 11-year-old boy in Ghaziabad on Friday afternoon. Additional Superintendent of Police (rural) Arvind Kumar Maurya said, “An FIR has been registered against the juvenile under IPC section 376 (rape) and sections 4 and 5 of the POCSO Act. The accused has been sent to juvenile custody and will be produced before the juvenile court on Monday. We are questioning locals for more details.”

Police said the parents of the two minors work as daily wage labourers. According to the complaint filed by the victim’s father, the two children would often play together. On Friday afternoon as well, police said the children were playing together. “The juvenile took the girl to a deserted spot within the vicinity and allegedly raped her before fleeing the spot,” said a police officer.

According to police, residents of the colony saw the girl lying in a pool of blood and alerted her family. They rushed the girl to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for injuries.

Police have confirmed that her condition is now stable. Later, the girl told her parents about the incident and they immediately lodged a complaint at the nearest police station.

Last month, a teenager was allegedly kidnapped and raped by three men in a moving car in Ghaziabad. In August, a cab driver was arrested for raping and murdering a minor in the city.
